Brett Kennedy joined the MTN Sports team in February of 2017 when he moved to Montana for the first time. He’s loving all the scenic beauty of this gorgeous state!
Brett spent the previous three years down south, as one of the main sports reporter/anchors at Collegian Television (CTV) at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo., while enrolled as a student there. He graduated from Colorado State in May of 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and media communication. Brett was raised in Kansas City, Mo., for a few years but mostly grew up in Colorado, so he’s used to Montana’s similarly cold weather.
While in Fort Collins, Brett was able to cover high school and Mountain West Conference college sports, ranging from football, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, volleyball, track and field, rugby, baseball and softball. He was fortunate to cover big football events such as the Rocky Mountain Showdown (Colorado vs. Colorado State) and the Boarder War Showdown (Wyoming vs. Colorado State). Some of the biggest highlights of Brett’s career are getting to interview NFL Rookie of the Year Todd Gurley along with taking a shot on goal with Jesse McGinley, the Colorado State women’s soccer goalie.
Brett is also an Eagle Scout.
When not at work, Brett is spending time outside hiking or going to the movies.
