HELENA -- On a cool, cloudy day the Helena Capital Bruins and Butte Bulldogs battled it out on the soccer field until the match was called, ending in a 1-1 draw.
Neither team was able to get any momentum rolling until midway through the first half.
Butte swarmed the top of the penalty box and Bree Birkenbuel found the ball at her feet, fired to net passed the out stretched arms of Julia Young to give Butte a 1-0 lead with around 20 minutes left in regulation.
Helena Capital refused to be taken out on its home turf and responded just a few minutes later, when Lillian Keeton shot a pass across the middle to Ellie Stiffler who beat the Butte goalkeeper to knot the match at it's eventual final score of 1-1.
