BOZEMAN and MISSOULA -- The Bozeman Hawks swept Missoula Big Sky in non-conference Class AA basketball action on Thursday. The girls won 64-37 in Bozeman while the boys won 67-42 in Missoula.
The games were some of the first around the state to begin the new year.
In the girls game, Bozeman raced out to a 34-25 lead by halftime but used a 20-4 advantage in the third quarter to run away from the Eagles. Addi Ekstrom led the game with 25 points for the Hawks. The win improved Bozeman to 1-4, while Big Sky fell to 0-4.
In the boys game, the Hawks led 38-12 by halftime as Bozeman took control right away and never looked back. Jackson Coles led the Hawks with 18, while Brett Clark added 14. Treyvn Reed led Big Sky with 10 points. Bozeman improved to 3-2 while Big Sky fell to 0-4.
