BOZEMAN — The Montana State volleyball team opens up Big Sky conference play against rival Montana in part one of the "Brawl of the Wild."

While the records for both teams give Montana State an edge on paper, MSU head coach Daniel Jones knows that won't matter playing in a tough road environment up in Missoula. He expects his team to match the energy the Griz' play with to start conference play with a win.

“It’s the same every year. It’s basically imagine a bobcats fighting a grizzly bear this is what it’s going to be like," says Jones. "You know it’s a fight there’s no doubt about it. We know that regardless of records or whatever coming in, it’s always one of the toughest matches we’ll play in the year. We go there it’s a hostile environment and they’re always up for it there’s no doubt," he adds. "And it’s our job to be up for it as well and go out and play the best we can in those moments.”
