BOZEMAN — The Pac-12 Conference made a major decision on Friday. Following in the footsteps of the Big Ten and other collegiate conferences across the country, the Pac-12 has chosen to cancel all non-conference football games for the upcoming 2020 season due to concerns over the coronavirus.
The decision will have a ripple effect across the country, including in the Treasure State. Montana State was slated to play Pac-12 Utah on the road in Salt Lake City on Sept. 12. That game would have been MSU’s second consecutive year facing off against an NCAA Division I FBS program. The Bobcats opened the 2019 season in Lubbock, Texas against Texas Tech.
Montana State, which was reportedly set to make more than $600,000 from the contest, was unavailable for comment.
