FARMINGTON, Utah – The Big Sky Conference announced its #BigSkyVB Players of the Week. Montana State’s Evi Wilson has been tabbed the Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Wilson had an outstanding weekend for the Bobcats as Montana State posted its first Big Sky road sweep since 2011 and its first win at Idaho since 1989.
In all, Wilson averaged an impressive 4.86 kills per set with an equally impressive .394 attack mark.
“Evi had herself a weekend,” said MSU head coach Daniel Jones. “There is no doubt that she is one of the premier outside hitters in the Big Sky Conference when she puts it together as she did this past week. She is highly motivated to leave Montana State volleyball better than she found it and is determined to make November a month to remember.”
In the Bobcats’ win at Eastern Washington, she matched her season-high with 19 kills (4.75 kps), while hitting .368 from the floor. Wilson followed that effort with 15 kills (5.00 kps) and a .429 attack as the Bobcats recorded its first-ever 3-0 sweep of the Vandals in Moscow.
Wilson also chipped in 12 digs (1.71 dps), one block and one service ace on the weekend.
“Individual accolades like this are celebrated by the team, as we know that when one of us is getting acknowledged it is a reflection of the work all of us are doing,” Jones added. “I couldn’t be happier for Evi and for the team.”
