FARMINGTON, Utah – Montana State senior McKenna Ramsay was recognized as the Big Sky Conference women's track athlete of the week for the first time in her career on Monday, Feb. 10, as the league announced its weekly awards.
Ramsay clocked a season-best converted time of 56.27 seconds in the 400 and also anchored the Bobcats' 4x400 relay at the MSU Indoor Open on Feb. 7. Her time in the 400 ranks sixth on the Big Sky performance list.
The Dillon, Colo., native was an all-conference performer in three events at last season's Big Sky Indoor Championships. She earned a gold medal in the 400 and 4x400 relay, as well as a bronze medal in the 200. She ranks fourth all-time in program history in the indoor 400 (54.48), sixth in the 200 (24.46) and is on four of MSU's top 10 fastest 4x400 relay squads.
The Montana State track and field program will have athletes travel to participate in two meets this weekend. The Bobcats compete in the Don Kirby Elite Invitational on the campus of the University of New Mexico from Feb. 13-14 and in the Husky Classic on the University of Washington campus from Feb. 14-15.
