BOZEMAN -- The Montana State Bobcats are taking a lot of lessons from their loss to Texas Tech, especially for quarterback Casey Bauman.

Bauman was thrown into the fire with his first career collegiate start under center being in front of a crowd of about 60,000 people. But the redshirt freshman settled in and threw for 120 yards and one touchdown.

"There's definitely a couple of throws that I would've liked back, but I think once I got settled in I think we did some good things. So we can only get better from here," said Bauman.

This coming Saturday will be a much more comfortable atmosphere for Bauman, under the lights at his home stadium. He goes from a Big 12 powerhouse to an evenly matched FCS program in Southeast Missouri State. And the game should slow down for the young signal caller.

"(Texas Tech) is pretty fast, especially for me," said Bauman. "It was a big difference for us, but it was good for us though, good for us to see what their game is."
