SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Montana men's basketball team bounced back from Thursday's loss to Northern Arizona with a 79-71 win over Sacramento State on Saturday evening.
The win improves Montana to 18-11 overall and 14-4 in conference play where the Griz remain tied for first place with Eastern Washington. The Eagles defeated Northern Colorado on Saturday which dropped the Bears one game behind UM and EWU. Montana holds the tiebreaker over Eastern Washington after sweeping the season series.
Sayeed Pridgett scored 24 points for the Griz. Jared Samuelson added 14, Kendal Manuel scored 12 and Kyle Owens tallied 11. Montana shot at a 58 percent clip (29 for 50) from the field and was 7 for 14 from deep.
Sac State tied the game 59-59 with 5:31 left to play, but Owens canned a 3 at the 5:08 mark and UM never trailed again as the Griz went on a 10-4 run to run away from the Hornets down the stretch.
Montana's final two regular-season games will be next Thursday and Saturday when the Griz host Northern Colorado and Southern Utah at Dahlberg Arena.
