MISSOULA -- With Montana's series vs. Idaho canceled this week due to COVID-19 issues within the Vandals' program, the Grizzlies' men's basketball team has added a pair of non-conference home games to their schedule. Montana will host Warner Pacific on Friday at 5 p.m. and again on Saturday at 2 p.m.
The pair of games will give Montana the chance to play on back-to-back days for the first time this season, something the Grizzlies will have to do next week at the Big Sky Championship in Boise, Idaho. Additionally, the games will ensure Montana doesn't have an extended layoff entering the tournament.
Warner Pacific is an NAIA school out of Portland, Oregon. The Knights have played just once this season, an 89-60 exhibition loss at Northern Colorado on Feb. 22, and will officially begin their delayed Cascade Collegiate Conference season later this month.
The Knights are under first-year head coach Jamayne Potts and return two of their top-five scorers from last season, including leading scorer Kadeem Strickland (15.0 points per game) and Miles Brown (12.3).
