The Helena Senators and Missoula Mavericks were forced to postpone their Wednesday baseball opener to Thursday.
Helena Senators manager Jon Burnett told MTN Sports that Kindrick Legion Field was unfit for play after rain showers hit the Helena area this week. The current forecast by the National Weather Service for Wednesday evening predicts thunderstorms could hit the Helena area.
The Senators and Mavericks, who were scheduled to play the first baseball game of the season after the coronavirus halted sports this spring, will now aim to play at 7 p.m. Thursday.
