Bozeman Bucks, Vauxhall Spurs lead American Legion Baseball all-conference, all-state teams

BOZEMAN -- The Bozeman Bucks, who won the Class AA American Legion Baseball state championship and finished runner-up at the Northwest Regional tournament, placed five players on the all-state team, which was announced Monday.

Catcher Alton Gyselman, second baseman Ben Hubley, shortstop Michael Freund, outfielder Kelher Murfitt and pitcher Hunter Williams all earned all-state recognition for the Bucks. Bozeman outfielder Finn Snyder and pitcher Sage McMinn were all-conference selections.

The Missoula Mavericks' Brent Hathaway was named the Class AA coach of the year after leading the Mavs to the regular-season championship. Tradd Richardson (utility), Dane Fraser (OF) and Dylan Chalmers (P) were all-state selections for the Mavs.

The Class A all-conference and all-state selections were also announced. Vauxhall, which won the Class A state championship, had three players earn all-conference recognition: infielder Johnny Vulcano and outfielders Carson Becker and Dallas Cummins. Vulcano was also an all-state selection.
