CALDWELL, Idaho -- No. 8 College of Idaho stunned No. 19 Montana Tech, 16-14, on Saturday afternoon in Caldwell, Idaho on a 58-yard field goal by Kyle Mitchell as time expired.

Tech looked like it had stolen a victory on the road from the unbeaten Yotes when Jet Campbell scored from 3 yards out with 21 seconds to play to cap a 15-play, 75-yard drive, but College of Idaho quarterback Darius Peterson completed four passes spanning 34 yards in just 19 seconds to set up the game-winning kick.

Mitchell's 58-yard field goal was his third make of the day on four attempts, as he made one from 29 yards in the second quarter and one from 45 yards to give COI a 13-7 lead in the fourth quarter.

The COI defense gave Tech all it could handle, holding the Orediggers to just 245 yards of offense -- an average of four yards per play. Tech was forced to punt five times, lost one fumble and was intercepted once. Blake Counts and Jet Campbell combined to run 28 times for 139 yards for Montana Tech.

College of Idaho was able to pound the ball on the ground, while Peterson was efficient enough through the air to keep the chains moving. Nick Calzaretta ran 27 times for 110 yards, Peterson ran six times for 31 yards and Dominic Garzoli carried the rock eight times for 30 yards. The Yotes had 22 first downs to Tech's 15. The Yotes were able to possess the ball for nine more minutes than the Orediggers.

College of Idaho remains unbeaten at 6-0 overall and in Frontier Conference play and will visit Southern Oregon on Oct. 26. Montana Tech falls to 4-2 overall and in Frontier play and will host Eastern Oregon on Oct. 26.
