BUTTE — A USA Boxing-sanctioned event is making its way to Butte next Saturday. The Copper Classic will start off at 6 p.m. showcasing some of the top talent from Montana and beyond.

A wide range of age groups will test their skills at the Gold Glove Gym in Butte. Among those stepping into the ring are hometown favorites like Rheanna Brush, Brenden Roat, and Chase Garland. Garland believes getting his start in boxing at a young age will put him that much further ahead of his competition as he progresses year by year in the sport.

“It’s cool, because I’m starting a little earlier than a lot of kids," said Garland. "So it’s pretty nice to get training. And I’ll have a lot of experience to go semi-pro and pro. There’s so many fighters that have been a part of this along with me, so it’s really cool.”
