The Montana circuit kicks off this weekend in with the 59th annual Belt PRCA Rodeo. Yearly added prize money draws top-notch competitors to the Belt Valley where they gun for the big money, matched up with the toughest broncs and bulls that Brookman-Hyland Rodeo has to offer.

Rodeo clown JJ Harrison is back in the barrel after a six-year hiatus. Harrison has worked the NFR, the Ram Circuit Finals and nearly every big event in the PRCA. But there’s nothing like the small town feel on the Montana circuit.

“The great thing about a community like Belt is just how big a deal the rodeo is there,” Harrison said. “I’ve done rodeos just outside of LA, I’ve done rodeos in great big cities. You’re going to get lots of people but the whole community is not going to jump on board and that’s what I love about Belt and communities like this is this rodeo comes to town.

“And to say it’s a small town is true, but to say it’s a small rodeo is not true. You’re going to see some of the best competitors not only in Montana, but from all over the country.”

There are two performances in Belt – Saturday night at 6 p.m., and Sunday at 2p.m.
