SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – In front of a capacity crowd at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center on Saturday night, PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) Jose Vitor Leme (Ribas do Rio Pardo, Brazil) won Round 2 of the First PREMIER Bank PREMIER Bankcard Invitational.

Leme’s 90.25 points on Medicine Man (TNT Bucking Bulls/Hart Cattle Co) brought the Sioux Falls crowd to its feet. The victory is his sixth round win of the season. For the win, Leme gained 100 world points and a $3,580 paycheck to move from No. 4 in the world standings to No. 3.

2012 PRCA World Champion Cody Teel (Kountze, Texas) and Scottie Knapp (Edgewood, New Mexico) tied for a second-place finish in South Dakota’s Round 2, each collecting 88-point ride scores and earning 55 world points. Teel held on strong to his No. 8 spot in the world standings after he rode Big City (Plummer/ Hart Cattle Co), while Knapp recorded his qualified ride on Scarface (Paradigm Bull Company) to move from No. 27 to No. 25 in the world. Both cowboys collected a $2,375 paycheck for their efforts.

The Cherokee Kid, Ryan Dirteater (Hulbert, Oklahoma) held onto his No. 6 spot in the world standings with a fourth-place finish. Dirteater turned in an 87-point ride aboard Blue Stone (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/ Clay Struve) to earn 40 world points along with $1,300.

Rounding out the Top 5 in Saturday’s Round 2 was Keyshawn Whitehorse (McCracken Springs, Utah) with an 86.5-point trip aboard Lethal Larry (Phenom Genetics/Maher/Sankey Pro Rodeo). Later in the evening the top bovine athletes dominated the 15/15 special round of competition. Despite a few rides that came close to the whistle none of the cowboys recorded a qualified ride in the fourth Bucking Battle of the 2019 season.
