BUTTE  – Day 2 of the NRA Finals at the Butte Civic Center took place Friday. The front-runners, and those trying to put themselves in position to make a run at the crown and the money in each event, gave it their all and put on an entertaining show.

In the bareback riding, Glendive’s Tucker Zingg scored a 74 to take home the Day 2 win. He’ll combine that with his 70 from Thursday. J2 Bridges has already clinched this event.

In steer wrestling, it was all about Billings’s Kyle Callaway Friday, wrestling his steer down in 4.9 seconds for the Day 2 win after posting a 17-second mark on Day 1.

The ladies got in on the action, as well, with some barrel racing. The Day 1 winner, Tammy Jo Carpenter, won again on Day 2, posting an impressive time of 14.78 seconds.

Fifteen-year-old Cole Detton from Great Falls won again in the junior breakaway roping event with an impressive 2.7 seconds.

And in saddle bronc riding, national champion Jesse Kruse scored a 72.5 to give himself the Day 2 win in the event.
