Dave Bray USA to sing Wednesday at team roping jackpot in Billings

BILLINGS – One of America’s most patriotic singers will be in Billings Wednesday to perform during a team roping jackpot at Rimrock Auto Arena.

The Wrangler National Team Roping Championship Finals run Tuesday through Sunday with over 5,000 teams expected compete. Ropers are allowed to enter multiple times and compete with different partners.

Ropers range in age form 9 to 83, both male and female, and include world champions and NFR qualifiers. The open division payout is estimated at around $50,000, according to former NFR qualifier Travis Tryan.

Dave Bray USA is scheduled to sing a handful of songs starting at 6:30 p.m. Bray was the original lead singer for Madison Rising, an American patriotic post-grunge and hard rock band. According to Wikipedia, the band was formed in 2011 by Richard Mgrdechian and refers to itself as the United States’ “most patriotic” rock band. Bray enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 18. He’s now a big fan of honoring and delivering performances to America’s first responders.

Wednesday’s performance, along with all of this week’s roping, are free to the public.
