Missoula Stampede Rodeo wraps up at Western Montana Fair

MISSOULA – The final rides at the Western Montana Fair settled more than $40,000 in prize money. The Missoula Stampede Rodeo wrapped up on Saturday night.

In the first event, the second rider jumped to an early lead. Blade Elliot from Alabama scored 76 points on his bareback attempt on Pick up Sticks. But the last rider, Jesse Davis of Power, put up the second-best score of the week, 82.5 points on Wild Sheep.

In steer wrestling, Billy Bugenig of Ferndale, Calif., put up the third-best ride of the week and the best time of the night in 4.5 seconds.

And in team roping, college star Kellan Johnson of Casper, Wyo., and Brady Norman of Springer, Okla., put up the top score by far, pairing up to finish in 6.4 seconds.
