Big Sky Pro Rodeo starts out with a bang at Great Falls State Fair

GREAT FALLS – Wednesday was the first night of the Big Sky Pro Rodeo at the Montana Expopark for the Great Falls State Fair. Wednesday was Patriot Night, honoring veterans in the military.

The night was started by Power’s Jessy Davis, who won the bareback event with a score of 80.5 points. Highwood’s Jake Malek won the steer wrestling event with a time of 7.6 seconds. Two cowboys from Arizona, Derrick Begay and Cory Petska, won the team-roping event with a time of 4.8 seconds. In the saddle bronc event, Melstone’s Sage Newman took the best time on the night during a re-ride, scoring an 84.5.
