World of Outlaws returns to Big Sky Speedway in August

BILLINGS – The Brawl at Big Sky Brawl for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series will hit the track for the third straight year at Big Sky Speedway in Billings, Mont., on Saturday, August 24, 2019.

Last season, Daryn Pittman scored his second straight win at the three-eighths-mile and third overall, dating back to 2005. The 2013 World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series champion took the lead from Jacob Allen on the 17th lap and stayed out front for the remainder of the 35-lap race.

The World of Outlaws made their debut at Big Sky Speedway in 2004, with 20-time series champion, Steve Kinser, sweeping that pair of events. In 2005, Kinser won the opener, with Pittman taking the finale. The Outlaws returned to the track in 2008, with Joey Saldana picking up the win.

This past season, Donny Schatz claimed his 10th World of Outlaws championship on the strength of 22 wins. Brad Sweet finished second in points and racked up nine wins, with David Gravel in third,

Pittman in fourth and Shane Stewart in fifth.

Logan Schuchart, who won two races in 2018, was sixth in the standings, with Sheldon Haudenschild, who had five victories in seventh. Ian Madsen, the 2018 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award winner, was eighth in the standings, with Brent Marks, who won three times in ninth and Kraig Kinser in 10th.
