SIDNEY -- Voting for the 2020 Little Sullivan Award finalists will end this Sunday, May 31, according to the Montana Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) board.
All current card-holding adult Montana AAU members, plus Montana media representatives, are encouraged to vote for this year’s winners by emailing selections to mtaau.reg@gmail.com.
Three basketball players highlight this year's finalist -- Missoula's Tres Tinkle, Havre's Dane Warp and Helena's McKenzie Johnston. Tinkle finished his senior season at Oregon State this winter, becoming the school's all-time scoring leader, while Warp was an all-American at Carroll College. Johnston finished her Lady Griz career as a first-team all-Big Sky Conference honoree.
Sidney's Gresh Jones, a Dickinson State (N.D.) wrestling all-American, and Dillon's Jason Ferris, a Montana Western football all-American, are the final male candidates this year.
Montana golfer Teigan Avery joins Butte High School swim sensation Catherine Russo and Plentywood's Paige Harris, a sprinter at North Dakota State, as the other female finalists.
The Montana AAU board is holding conversations about potential make-up dates for its annual banquet, which was originally scheduled for May 9 at Fairmont Hot Springs.
