ANACONDA – After a three-day tournament Team Colorado walked away champions as the 46th annual Junior Americas Cup wrapped up Thursday in Anaconda at the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort Golf Course.

The event featured 18 teams from the U.S., Canada and Mexico with four golfers per group. The Montana team, which was comprised of Joey Moore, JR Small, Justus Verge and Jace Rhodes, finished 12th.

Colorado’s Dillon Stewart took the top player award by hitting 16-under-par for the tournament. It wasn’t a perfect final round for the golfer out of Fort Collins, but it was good enough to bring home the trophy.

“Kind of had a little hiccup on 10, made a double bogie on a par-5, pretty doable par-5, too,” said Stewart. “But then again I just stayed patient and let things happen and then end making a few birdies down the stretch.”
