DES MOINES, Iowa -- Catherine Russo, a Butte High senior, has qualified for the 2020 Olympic Trials.
Competing at the USA Swimming Futures Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, Russo won the women's 100 butterfly, touching the wall in 1 minute, 00.61 seconds. She will also compete in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke at the Futures Championships, which conclude Sunday.
Russo is the Montana High School Association record holder in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly, winning both events at last year's state meet.
The 2020 Olympic Trials are next June in Omaha, Nebraska.
