BOZEMAN – It was an undefeated semifinal match up between the Butte Miners and the Gallatin Valley Outlaws with the winner locking up a spot in the Southern A district finals Sunday.
Butte got the bats going in the top of the first inning. Butte led 1-0 when Aidan Lee smashed a grand slam to right field to make it 5-0 Miners. They would hold the Outlaws to just two runs through four innings, but then the game completely flipped. The Outlaws scored nine in the fifth and added on two more insurance runs in the sixth to make it a 15-5 ballgame.
Butte couldn’t muster up a comeback, as Gallatin Valley won by that 15-5 final. Butte will play rival Dillon Sunday and the Outlaws will await the winner of that game in the championship Sunday at 1 p.m.
