GREAT FALLS — The Great Falls Chargers needed some life in the late innings, and Kael Richards delivered, singling home two runs in the bottom of the seventh to defeat the Kalispell Lakers 9-8 in American Legion Baseball conference play at Centene Stadium on Saturday.
The Chargers established an early 4-0 lead, but Kalispell would eventually take an 8-5 lead with help from a bases-clearing double by Payton Davisson.
In the seventh with two runners on, Richards smacked a single through the left side, bringing in Derick Spring and Travis Stauter to seal a 9-8 win.
Kalispell would win the second game of the doubleheader 9-2, but Great Falls took the rubber match on Sunday 6-5.
