MISSOULA – On Wednesday evening the Bitterroot Red Sox came to Lindbord-Cregg Field to take on the Mavericks in a nine-inning game.

The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for a baseball game, with the sun and nearly no wind.

In the first two innings, the Red Sox came out swinging as they put five runs up on the board, and another two in the fourth and fifth.

However, the Mavs clawed back to bring it within three-runs to start off the eighth inning. Dane Fraser came to the plate with the bases loaded and unloaded on a ball down the right field line, clearing the bases and bring the Mavs within one.

After a sac ground-out to tie the game, the Mavs had the bases loaded with no outs in the ninth. Tradd Richardson came up and delivered the game-winning single to right center field.

The Mavs won 8-7.
