Helena Senators earn 1st conference win over Great Falls

HELENA — The Helena Senators snatched the lead late in the game in a 7-5 victory over the Great Falls Chargers at Kindrick Legion Field on Tuesday.

Helena was down 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Hunter Kirkpatrick homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs.

Great Falls got things started in the second inning. Tyler Marr singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Ethan Keintz was credited with the victory for Helena. He went one inning, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out one and walking zero. Cy Miller threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Brayden Welty took the loss for Great Falls. He surrendered six runs on seven hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four.

Kirkpatrick started the game for the Senators. He allowed five hits and three runs over four innings, striking out three

Zach Spiroff led Helena with two hits in three at bats.

Great Falls tallied seven hits. Travis Stauter and Kael Richards all managed multiple hits for the Chargers. Stauter went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Great Falls in hits.
