HELENA — In a weeknight non-conference baseball matchup the Helena Senators beat the Missoula Mavericks for a third straight time, this time 8-1 at Kindrick Legion Field.
Mavericks pitcher Parker Stevens gave the Senators fits early, as the first Helena hit didn’t come until the bottom of the fourth inning. After the hit, the Senators pieced together an inning where two runs crossed on passed balls and another on a single by Rudy Barkley.
Senator Matt Krieger went 2-for-5 over the misty evening and drove in a pair of runs, and Missoula’s Dane Fraser drove in the only Mavericks run on the night.
Helena will get right back to work on May 16 when it hosts the Butte Miners at 7 p.m., and Missoula will host the Glacier Twins on May 18 at 1 p.m.
