MISSOULA – The Billings Mustangs moved closer to a Pioneer League second half title with a comeback victory on Tuesday night.

Billings took the lead in the sixth and shut down the Osprey over the final six innings in a 6-4 win. The Mustangs now lead the North Division by 3.5 games with only nine days left in the regular season. The Osprey will try to bounce back with three more games against Billings this week.

Missoula jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first after an Eddie Hernandez two-run single. Hernandez drove in another run with a single in the third to put the Osprey up 4-2, but Missoula only managed six hits over the next six innings. Connor Ryan, Andrew McDonald and Ryan Dunne shut down the Os from the Billings bullpen.

Juan Martinez carried the offense for the Mustangs. He went 3-for-4 in Ogren Park Allegiance Field, slugging a pair of two-run home runs to left center field. The second put Billings ahead in the sixth inning.
