Day Two at the Montana-Alberta American Legion Baseball Class AA state tournament

KALISPELL – The second day of the Montana-Alberta American Legion Baseball Class AA state tournament took place Sunday afternoon.

GAME ONE – GREAT FALLS CHARGERS VS. BILLINGS SCARLETS – In the first game, the Billings Scarlets wasted no time getting their bats going. They dropped six runs on the Chargers in the first inning. The Chargers did give up hits but were ultimately plagued by costly and timely errors as the Scarlets rolled to a 14-1 win.

GAME TWO – BILLINGS ROYALS VS. KALISPELL LAKERS – In the second and final game of the afternoon in the winner’s bracket it was the host Kalispell Lakers up against the Billings Royals. The Lakers scored a run in the second on a sacrifice bunt, but there were no runs for the next four innings. In the seventh the Lakers owned a 1-0 lead, but Royals got a rally started and an error led to a tied ballgame. In extra innings, Jayden Kay was the hero as he smacked an RBI triple to give Billings the lead. They won 3-1.

Game 1: No. 8 Great Falls defeats No. 1 Bozeman, 6-5
Game 2: No. 4 Billings Scarlets defeat No. 5 Missoula, 10-2
Game 3: No. 3. Billings Royals defeat No. 6 Lethbridge, 6-5
Game 4: No. 2 Kalispell defeates No. 7 Helena, 4-2

Sunday

Game 5: Lethbridge defeats Helena, 8-4 (loser-out)
Game 6: Missoula defeats Bozeman, 9-2 (loser-out)
Game 7: Billings Scarelts defeat Great Falls, 14-1 (second round)
Game 8: Billings Royals defeat Kalispell, 3-1/9 innings (second round)

Monday

Game 9: Lethbridge vs. Great Falls, loser-out, 1 p.m.
Game 10: Missoula vs. Kalispell, loser-out, 4 p.m.
Game 11: Billings Scarlets vs. Billings Royals, quarterfinal, 7 p.m.

Tuesday

Game 12: Game 9 winner vs. Game 11 loser, loser-out, 4 p.m.
Game 13: Game 10 winner vs. Game 11 winner, semifinal, 7 p.m.

Note: Games 12 and 13 will not match previous opponents against each other unless absolutely necessary. If three teams remain after Game 13, the winner of Game 11 automatically draws the bye in Game 14.

Wednesday

Game 14: Game 12 winner vs. Game 13 winner, championship, 4 p.m.
Game 15: Second championship, if necessary, 7 p.m.
