SAN BERNARDINO, CA – The Montana state champs from Missoula are now heading home from the Little League Softball Western Regional Tournament. Garden City Little League fell to Olivehurst Linda Little League, 6-2, on Monday evening.

The Northern California champs scored at least one run in each of the first four innings to take a 6-0 lead. Garden City did score on wild pitches in both the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings. But the 11-12 year old players from Missoula could only manage two total hits off Olivehurst pitcher Ashlynn Wheeler.

Irene Griswold and Kai Gillis provided all of the offense for Garden City. Isa Bates tossed all six innings, striking out six Northern California batters.

Garden City lost their first game of the tournament on Saturday, 2-0, versus Cactus Foothills Little League, the Arizona state champs.
