BUTTE — Butte native Colt Anderson, the former NFL and University of Montana football player, kicks off the second year of his Dream Big Montana Foundation event Thursday.

Thursday’s event is a gala hosted at the Copper King Hotel, and the activities will resume Friday with a full day of activities.

Anderson first will host a skills camp from 10 a.m. to noon at Naranche Stadium Friday, followed by a family fun day at the Butte Civic Center from noon to 3 p.m. Afterward, Uptown Butte will host a poker run and live music to cap off the night.

Anderson has enjoyed watching this event grow, and including different activities both kids and adults can enjoy was a big key for this year’s event. At the end of the day, Anderson just wants the kids who get to enjoy the day full of fun-filled activities to take away an important lesson from the experience, a lesson his foundation is centered around.

“Really just to provide an experience to the kids to let them realize anything is possible — whether it’s meeting a celebrity, meeting one of their peers, doing an event, doing an activity that will give them a boost of confidence –and really just motivate them to keep working hard,” Anderson said.
