BILLINGS – An early weekend started Friday for students at seven county schools around the Billings area.

A few hundred kids grades 5-8 turned out at Daylis Stadium for the annual county track and field meet. Each school sent nearly every student with most required to compete in at least four events. Some had so much built up energy they entered a few more at the last minute.

Students from Elysian, Trinity, Morin-Pioneer, Canyon Creek, Elder Grove, Independence and Blue Creek schools were all competing for ribbons starting at 9 a.m.
