BILLINGS – Runners and walkers alike are encouraged to register for the Yellowstone Rim Runners’ upcoming Shamrock Run on March 23.

Now in its 36th year, the Shamrock Run offers fun and fitness for the entire family. Choose between a 5k run (3.1 miles), a 10k run (6.2 miles), and 1 mile kids run. The 5k and 10k races begin at 10 a.m. while the 1 mile begins at 11.

All races start and end at Pioneer Park in Billings. Post-race celebrations will be held in Pioneer Park with bagpipers, cotton candy and kettle corn, tasty pancakes and bacon provided by American Legion Post No. 117 and green beverages for adults.

Proceeds from this year’s race benefit RunKidsRun, an organization that has teamed up with TimeOut Sports to provide running shoes to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade children throughout the Billings School District. The Yellowstone Rim Runners hope to raise $5,000, which translates to 125 pairs of quality running shoes for deserving kids in our community.

The Yellowstone Rim Runners feel that all children should be afforded the opportunity to enjoy running for fun or competition, and all of its many benefits (improved health, confidence, setting and achieving goals, among many others). And with the right pair of shoes, a child can do just that.

To register or for more information please visit www.rimrunners.org or contact Yellowstone Rim Runners President Aaron Redland at (406)-671-5606.
