MISSOULA – On Friday afternoon the fourth stop on the World Players of Handball tour came to Missoula.
The Peak Racquet Center hosted the “Montana Red Death Tournament.”
The top 10 players in the world will be squaring up all weekend, while amateurs will also have their shot at breaking onto the scene with high-ranked matchups of their own.
Some of the players that keep coming back say the Peak hosts one of their favorite tournaments of the year.
“The hospitality, the camaraderie, the enthusiasm, the fans, it’s just outstanding. It’s one of the best stops we’ve ever had,” said development director David Fink. “We’ve had 52 stops in the history of our tour dating back to 2011, and I think if you ask the players this would be in their top three and yet it’s only the second year. So it’s a credit to what the handball community does here in Missoula with Shawn Sandau, the tournament director. We love coming here, and last year we had a great tournament and we’re expecting the same here this weekend.”
