ASPEN, Colo. – Maggie Voisin continues to soar as one of the best freestyle skiers in the world. The Whitefish native made another trip to Aspen for the X Games Friday.

Voisin became the first American women to win a gold medal in slopestyle at last year’s X Games. As the only American in this year’s field, she came up a little short, but still brought home a medal. Voisin’s second run scored 87.66 points, good for third place and a bronze.

The 19-year-old Voisin, who finished fourth at the Winter Olympics in 2018, has now won four career medals at the annual X Games. Kelly Sildaru scored 99 to win gold in slopestyle.

Voisin competed again Friday night in Aspen, this time in ski Big Air. She scored 44.0 points on her best jump spinning left, which was the third-best among the eight competitors, but she could not score on a jump spinning right. Voisin settled for an eighth-place finish.
