SEATTLE – Twelve Montana athletes traveled to Seattle to compete in the 2018 Special Olympics USA Summer Games, and all 12 will return with a medal for either first, second or third in their events.
Team Montana saw three athletes claim gold medals, led by Columbia Falls powerlifter Spencer Vermillion, who finished first in deadlift (465 lbs) and combined disciplines.
Zoe Barber of Victor claimed gold in female singles bocce, and Butte’s Zach Stenson won a gold medal in the 400-meter run. The Montana delegate will fly in to the Great Falls International Airport at 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
