HELENA — The Helena Brewers and Great Falls Voyagers met for Game 3 of their Pioneer League Baseball home-and-home series with the first one of two in Helena on Monday.

The Voyagers started off swinging in the first inning with Lenyn Sosa slapping a two-run home run over the left field wall to put the road team up 2-0.

The Brewers came back in the third off a Je’Von Ward RBI single to score Jesus Lujano to make it 2-1.

In the fifth inning Sosa struck again, with an RBI line drive to left field to score Ian Dawkins that made it 3-1 Great Falls.

Helena’s Nick Egnatuck reached on a fielder’s choice in the top of the sixth inning, scoring David Fry, 3-2 Great Falls to keep their slim lead.

Helena took the lead in the seventh, though, off of a Ward single to score Bryan Torres to tie it up at 3-3. The Brewers followed that with a Jean Carmona double on a fly ball to left field, scoring Lujano to make it 4-3 Helena.

Great Falls’ Ramon Beltre singled in the top of the ninth, scoring Amado Nunez to tie things up again at 4-4. But Fry ended things in walk-off fashion with a line drive to left field, bringing home Chad McClanahan and lifting the Brewers to the 5-4 win.

Great Falls and Helena are both now 10-8 on the season. The two teams will square off again Tuesday night in Helena at 7:05 p.m.
