RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Billings Royals swept a pair of pool play games at the Black Hills Classic Saturday morning in Rapid City, S.D.
The Royals defeated the Rapid City Post 22 Expos 7-4 in Game 1. Niklas Nordstog and Brooks Zimmer each hit home runs, with Nordstog finishing 3-for-3 with three RBI. Cole Miller was also 3-for-3 in the game.
Billings then topped Taconite, Minnesota 2-1 in Game 2. Atticus Bryan threw a seven-inning complete game, giving up just one run on three hits while striking out six. Dawson Smith was 3-for-3 with a triple, and scored both of the Royals’ runs.
The Royals now await Sunday’s opponent in bracket play.
