Logan Lindholm tops Joey Moore for Montana Match Play Championship

HELENA, Mont. – Kalispell’s Logan Lindholm defeated Billings’ Joey Moore up seven with six holes to play to win the Montana State Match Play Championship Sunday at Green Meadow Country Club in Helena.

Helena native Mike Williams defeated Billings native and Montana Tech golfer Sean Benson Two up in the third-place match.

Lindholm’s win over Moore was stunning in the manner. He dominated the San Diego State Commit from the opening hole and finished him off with six holes remaining.
Moore was the No. 2 seed in the bracket and won his preliminary matches handily, but couldn’t maintain the momentum into the championship match.

The third-place match went down to the final hole, but Williams held off Benson on his home course.

Lindholm is the second Kalispell native to win the Match Play Championship. Ryan Porch won the event in 2014 and 2015.
