SAN FRANCISCO — Former Billings Senior standout and current Washington State outside hitter Taylor Mims was named to the all-Pac-12 women’s volleyball team.

Mims, who won Montana’s 2014 Gatorade player of the year award and led Senior to three consecutive Class AA titles, ranks second overall on the Cougars in total kills and has been incredibly efficient on the year with a team-high 3.78 kills per set. Mims has continued to move up Washington State’s record books, passing the 1,000 kill mark earlier this year. Mims is currently seventh all-time with 1,262 kills. Mims is also ranked third all-time with 1,582 points in her career.

Mims is a force defensively, too. Mims is in the program’s top ten in three different blocking categories, ranking fourth in total blocks (431), fourth in block assists (368) and sixth in solo blocks (62).

Earlier this season, Mims posted a career-high 26 kills against No. 17 Northern Iowa. She also set a career-high in digs with 21 against Oregon on the road.

Washington State enters the NCAA Tournament ranked No. 16. The top 16 teams in the tournament will host the first two rounds on campus sites. The Cougars will host Northern Arizona on Friday at 8 p.m.
