BILLINGS – Joining the athletics department at Montana State University Billings, Morgan Walters has been hired as assistant volleyball coach announced on Monday.
Walters will begin working on off-season coaching duties as they pertain to MSUB volleyball. She will assist head coach Casey Williams, who is set to begin her fourth season at the helm of the program.
“Morgan is a great addition to the MSUB Volleyball staff,” Williams said. “Her experience and energy are what drew me to her and I am excited for her to get on campus and start working with the team.”
Walters served as graduate assistant coach at Walsh University, a private NCAA Division II institution in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference for one season. In her time at Walsh, the Cavaliers went 19-14 and 14-5 in the GMAC. She also coached club volleyball over the same period.
Prior to her coaching career in North Canton, Ohio, Walters spent one year at Morehead State University (Minnesota) as operations manager. She graduated from Gannon University in May 2016 with a degree in Communications.
“Making the move from Ohio to Montana was big, but after talking to Coach Williams and some of the other staff members I knew this is where I wanted to coach,” commented Walters. “I’m excited to be a part of this family and look forward to the upcoming season.”
Walters played four years of volleyball as a setter and defensive specialist for the Gannon Golden Knights and amassed 857 career digs, 31 blocks, 43 kills, and 1168 assists. She brings a high level of playoff experience having appeared in the NCAA Division II regional Sweet 16.
Walters grew up in Girard, Ohio, where she attended Girard High School and was an all-state athlete.
