MSU Billings to host prospect camp in September

BILLINGS  – Hosting a camp for high-school baseball players interested in continuing their careers at the collegiate level, the Montana State University Billings baseball team will hold its 2018 Prospect Camp on Sept. 7-9 in Billings.

The camp will take place at Joe Pirtz Field and also features a tour of the MSUB campus. Players who will graduate high school from 2019-2023 are eligible to register for the camp.

The cost is $200 per individual, and a special camp sponsor hotel rate of $119 per night is available at the Hilton Garden Inn by calling 406-655-8800. There is also an optional written and video evaluation for an additional cost of $50 per player.

The cost of the camp includes a t-shirt as well as a game ticket to the Billings Mustangs (minor league affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) game on Sept. 8 at 6:05 p.m.

Individuals are responsible for bringing their own baseball equipment, including glove, cleats, hat, bats, and any other necessary equipment.

The MSUB baseball team is coming off its best season in program history, winning the Great Northwest Athletic Conference regular-season title for the third time in the last four seasons. The Yellowjackets posted a school-record 33 wins during their championship campaign, going 33-18 overall and claiming the conference crown with a league record of 29-11.
