TULSA, Okla. — Former Glasgow multi-sport athlete Keil Krumwiede was named to the all-Summit League second team on Tuesday.
Krumwiede is a junior shortstop on the University of Nebraska Omaha baseball team. He had 52 hits in 50 regular-season games and led the team in runs scored (37) and RBI (34).
Krumwiede was a two-time all-state player at Glasgow, where he also earned all-state honors in basketball and football before graduating in 2015. He started his college baseball career at Montana State University Billings, redshirting one season and then transferring to Des Moines Area Community College. He played 51 games for the Bears in 2017 and ranked sixth in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) with 47 walks.
In his first season at Omaha, Krumwiede started 44 games, recording a .228 batting average and a team-high 30 walks. Now a junior, he’s hitting .277 with 38 walks.
The Mavericks (29-21-1 overall, 20-10 conference) started postseason play on Wednesday, entering the Summit League Championship as the league’s top seed. They defeated Western Illinois 15-9 in the first round and will play South Dakota State or Oral Roberts in the second round at 5 p.m. (MDT) Thursday.
