GLENDIVE – After winning Game 1 of the District Championship Series, the Lady Bucs of Dawson Community College came up short in Game 2. Kirkwood scored one in the first inning and one in the second inning to take a two run lead. Kylee Hergenrider started the comeback for the Lady Bucs with a solo homer in the bottom of the 2nd to close within one run. In the third inning, Alison Ellerton hit an RBI double scoring Trinity Anderson and then Reannon Justice drove in Ellerton to give the Bucs a 3-2 lead.
Kirkwood’s London Jackson broke the game open in the 4th with a 3 run dinger. The Eagles went on to score four more in the 5th and three more in the 6th to win it 12-3. Kirkwood banged out 15 hits in the game.
The final game will be Thursday at noon at BL Baker Memorial field. The winner will get an automatic bid to nationals next week in Mississippi.
