Dawson Community College (39-3) earns 1st national softball ranking

GLENDIVE – Showcasing the country’s top NJCAA Division II record at 39-3, Dawson Community College’s softball women broke into the national rankings this week for the first time in Division II. The Bucs are ranked No. 20.

In his ninth year as DCC’s head coach, Jim LeProwse has guided his team to a 16-0 mark against conference opponents and 10-0 against regional opponents. DCC also won Mon-Dak Conference for the seventh time in nine years.

– 1st in the nation for RBI’s (381)
– 2nd in the nation for doubles (101)
– 4th in the nation for shutouts (13)
– 5th in the nation for hits (478)
– 5th in the nation for extra base hits (158)

– 5th in the nation for on base percentage (.471)
– 6th in the nation for stolen bases (109)
– 7th in the nation for batting average (.401)
– 7th in the nation for slugging percentage (.617)
– 10th in the nation for home Runs (43)

Dawson will host the Region XIII tournament May 3-5 as the No. 1 seed BL Baker Memorial Field in Glendive.
