GLENDIVE – Another strong runner signed with the cross country and track program at Dawson Community College. Dylan Talley comes to Dawson from Newcastle, Wyoming. While in high school, he has competed in cross country, basketball, and track.

“Dylan will be a great addition to our team as he brings distance running experience, as well as a love for the sport,” said DCC head coach Ben Sandy. “With the accomplishments Dylan has already achieved, I know he should be a contributing member of our top seven. I am excited to see where we can take his running career.”

Talley has personal bests of 17:40 for 5K (3.1 miles) in cross country, 4:24 for the mile, 10:02 for the 2 mile, and 1:58 for 800 meters.

“The reasons I chose to attend Dawson is the fact that coach Ben Sandy is from Newcastle, so I have someone from home already there,” said Talley. “Also, I think that Dawson Community College is more accustomed to what I am used to, and I ultimately will feel comfortable there. I think that the program will help me grow as an athlete. It is not every day a person from Newcastle gets a scholarship, and the fact I had someone wanting me to run for them helped me decide that this is where I need to go to better my career.”
