GLENDIVE – Dawson Community College cross country head coach Ben Sandy announced the in-state signing of Miles City’s Austin Roberts on Friday. Roberts excelled in cross-country, wrestling and track while at Custer County High School.
“I first met Austin last fall at a high school cross country meet,” said Sandy, “…and he let me know then that he wanted to attend Dawson to go through the welding program and run cross country and track. I am excited for Austin and for the opportunity to work with him to improve his distance running abilities.”
Roberts said he chose Dawson Community College for it’s welding program and to run cross-country. He had a personal best of 21:35 in his first year of running high school cross country. His top track and field times are 13.90 for the 100m, 28.97 for the 200m, and 1:06 for the 400m.
