GLENDIVE – Dawson Community College men’s basketball player Marcus Stephens was selected to the Mon-Dak All-Conference First Team, the school announced on Tuesday.

A freshman from Tacoma, Washington, the 6’2″ Stephens averaged 17.6 points, 3.4 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game. His scoring average of 31.8 points per 40 minutes led the conference.

Stephens scored over 20 points 10 times this season and led the Bucs in scoring in 21 games. He reached double figures in every game except one this season, with a career high 27 points helping DCC to an 82-78 win at league-leading Williston State College on February 14th. Stephens scored the final seven points of the game to complete DCC’s comeback.

Stephens was one of 12 freshman who helped Dawson finish the season 20-12 overall and 10-4 in the conference for a third place finish. The Bucs reached the Regional Semifinals before losing to North Dakota State College of Science.
